If string has accents it probably will not be decoded properly if user's locale differs from developer's locale (maybe that was changed). Also there may be a problem with plural forms. Language that used as source should have the same forms as English: two forms, one used for N=1 and other for other cases.
There is also problem for translators, they cannot work in usual way, more of them understand English than Esperanto. -- Eugeniy Meshcheryakov
