I don't want people to think too much in terms of "sd-networkd VS Netplan",
but rather in terms of "sd-networkd PLUS Netplan".
I'm a little confused. Much earlier in this thread it was stated that
ifupdown2 was out of the running simply because it brings in python,
even though some consider it a better alternative than ifupdown-ng.
However, netplan.io also brings in python. Do I misunderstand which
package would be used to implement Netplan as being discussed here?
If we _are_ talking about netplan.io, then shouldn't we also bring
ifupdown2 back into consideration?
No. We're talking about the "netplan-generator" package, which comes without any
Python dependencies. It's a part of the netplan.io source package and everything
that would be required in the default installation.
