Hi Manuel and everybody, I fully agree. What is the point of calling our collective work a “distribution” if the source code can not be distributed among multiple packages ? Just politely ignore or concisely turn down the criticisms unless they bring something new to the past discussions. If people want to twist your arm, they can go to the technical comitte or pass a GR. However I warn against this: the result will be to have less sourceless files, but not because more tarballs will be cleaned. It will be because packages will be removed from our archive after the maintainers abandon them or Debian altogether.
