Currently the only procedure we have in place for this, short of convincing the maintainer to withdraw it, is a GR. So while you are right, your attempts to pretend that there is some other sort of procedure, or perhaps to pressure people to act as if there were one, is unwelcome. And, IIRC, you aren't one of those folks anyway, right?
