It was pointed out to me that this is not entirely correct. It seems that transactions to Switzerland are not free of charge in all cases (for the sender). The problem (AFAIUI) is that while technically the transactions work the same as inside the EU (SEPA transaction), the EU law that says that transactions inside the EU are not allowed to be more expensive than transactions inside each country, is not applicable to Switzerland. This leads to the situation that fees vary between different banks. Some charge for it (from what I've heard up to 20€), others do it for free (at least if the transaction is done in EUR). We should get more information about this before deciding about the procedure. If the fees are really not more than 20€ even for bigger amounts, then I don't think it matters much for the usual amount I expect from sponsors. Gaudenz -- Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter.
