We started "right in time compared to a German train" as Gunnar said.
;-P While in principlce we were at the right time at the beach we were
not permitted to swim anyway due to the waves. After some negotiation
with the gard we were permitted to approach the sea until half hight of
our knees and so we get wet at least. It was not as worse as one time
in Kanada where I even payed entrance fee to permit some guard to stop
me from proper swimming in absolutely smooth water but deeper than 1m.

In principle the beach was way more nice than last Wednesday when I was
with Pollo after the thunderstorm and the water was not really clear and
a bit smelly. Today it was great water and no smell at all. Thus I'd
recommend swimming for those who are fine with skipping DebConf talks
(which I will not do) but you might like to check some webcam facing
the beach or some other sources of information about the chances to
enter the water.
