I don't really have the answer, but I have a guess. First, I'd like to share that I had a weird body sensation when I read in this public mailing list a call for an open water swimming in a forbidden place. Because some non-experienced swimmers can just get too excited to join, therefore facing a set of risks once on the water. Now, my guess is that it's forbidden simply because the lifeguards arrive only around 9am. I was there when they arrived. I believe security is a collective responsibility, that's why I'm adding my two cents here. By the way, I joined only for the view, and had a nice croissaint in a café just in front. Bests, -- Tiago
