Ageing the battery by using your camera to wipe your memory cards?
Hardly.
Admittedly, I only use 64GB cards, but they can be wiped in-camera in about
15 seconds.

I move photos from a memory card reader to a prepared directory on
hard-disk which removes/deletes from memory card on successful transfer,
*then* import into dt.  why age your expensive camera battery for other
than taking pictures?
