It wasn’t 3 8 hour days, so there is that. I think I finally got it last night. Part of the issue is that moving the engine just a TINY bit is really hard, it is way too easy to move it over an inch instead of a quarter inch. Once I finally got the port-starboard-forward-aft-twist aligned, the remaining issue was the front needed to go up a little. That part was a relief, I can turn the nuts with a wrench to move the engine up. If C&C had designed the boat to use rubber mounts this would be so much easier.

I ran my fingernail around the prop coupling and it seemed good enough to get to the yard. The boat ran fine and I had their mechanic do a “real” alignment before hauling the boat for paint. They said it was fine, no adjustments needed. This time I have been 3 days getting it right, moving a 380-something hunk of iron around suddenly got harder! Did the engine get heavier or did I get older? BTW, aligning a diesel is 100 times easier. The A4 is not fixed side to side nor fore and aft, you get the vertical adjustments along with port/statboard, forward/aft, and twist.
