You probably had the Indigo 10x6 3 blade prop. It is a good prop for a direct drive Atomic 4. Speaking of that, C&C should never have used the direct drive engine in a 35 foot boat, the boat really needed the reduction gear Atomic 4. Direct drive gives up about 10 horsepower.

Now with the Universal 25XPB with a 2:05 reduction, Touche' is swinging a 14 x 14 Martec 2 blade folder. Couple points: It feels like it's slightly underpitched. I can get about 6.7-6.9 knots at max 2900 engine rpm. I cruise at 6.3-6.4 kts at 2400 rpm. RPM's were calibrated with an optical tach. The 14 inch clears the hull well because the Martec prop has a long hub. Pics in the link below. One pic has a tape measure attached to the open prop to show the clearance from tip to hull. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B_sb5TfIENvsY2xPRW9XNUhLczg?resourcekey=0-WfvlRXZuplgGlho8cWBFOQ&usp=sharing -- Dennis C. What diameter prop do other Mk I owners have on their boats? How far does the shaft extend past the cutless bearing on their boats? Instead of going to a larger diameter prop, decide on the right pitch. You should be able to reach the highest rated RPM for your engine at full throttle. If you can't, your pitch is too high. If you can reach the highest rated RPM before reaching full throttle, your pitch is too low.
