Similar story with my buddy's adult son, I told him I thought he should
keep his shoes on B/C there were lots of toe stubbers on the deck, but he
said harumph, and then halfway through the race another accidental jibe,
the bridge-,mounted windward-sheeting car came crashing down right across
his toes, raking a big gouge across them - I stared in horror, waiting for
the blood to start squirting all over. But it didn't happen! He didn't seem
to have any more blood in his toes than a bird. He just said, Damn!, then
laughed it off. Ouch!
