I replaced my original Navtec rod rigging with new Hyan (who Ibelieve
bought out Navtec) rod rigging. The turnbuckles are different, more
conventional in appearance.

The original turnbuckles seized, and were also cracked. The cracks were
very fine, they looked more like scratches than cracks but on close
examination there was no doubt they were cracked. Unfortunately we can't
post pics here. If your turnbuckles have been stuck for several years,
they're probably also cracking.

The rig replacement was expensive, but I'm happy I did it, and did it with
rod again.
