I’m with Joe on this.  I considered carbon but the $800-1000 extra cost was not 
worth it.  The key for me is that I can store the line control whisker pole 
attached to the mast, so I don’t ever have to pick it up, thus the extra weight 
of the aluminum version is not a problem.  Dave
