Barbara I don't know what boat you have but if I understand you correctly maybe you just need a new clew slug on your main sail...any sailmaker can help you choose one to fit your boom track and with a couple of feet of webbing, a strong needle and some waxed thread you could install it yourself or maybe just do it like Joel suggested...the slide on Alianna is not integral to the boom but rather a part of the sail, maybe yours is different
