There are good tank cleaners and there are bad tank cleaners. The ones that simply circulate and polish don't appeal to me. The guys that pull the fuel level sensor, insert a tube or wand and use high pressure to stir up the crud in the corners and filter and polish are OK.
I would rather pull the tank and really clean it. When I worked on old motorcycles, I would pull the tank, throw in a handful of rocks and gravel and shake it to remove all the crud. If your tank is steel or aluminum, you might find pits. If so, replace the tank. In a perfect world, replace the tank with a new plastic one. Dennis C.
