I use a U-1 sized battery for a starting battery. These are about 35 AH and
are easily picked up with one hand.

Listers,

I have two very-large AGM house banks and one of them is at 12.7
volts and the other is at 11.9. I tried charging the latter, and it slowly
drained back down to 11.9 after a couple of weeks.

Assuming I can't get it to hold a charge again, I'm thinking of
replacing it with a small engine-starter type of battery and use ALL to
start/run the engine and then flip to 1 when in other modes.

Any recommendations for a good all-purpose (and inexpensive) sealed
battery good for giving the engine a good starting jolt?

                All the best,

                Edd
