I doubt the transom cut-out did the boat any favours (as I alluded to in my original post). But the tee modification I doubt would have much impact, if any, if it was done properly.
That narrow cockpit and hopping up and down off the seat was really the only thing that I wasn’t crazy on when I bought my 27. And if the owner hadn’t been out of the province I might have ended up with an Ontario 28 (which does have the T). They had to make a split backstay and literally took a Sawzall to the transom, cutting it down to the level of the sole. They then finished the opening. Very cool!
