I doubt the transom cut-out did the boat any favours (as I alluded to in my
original post). But the tee modification I doubt would have much impact, if
any, if it was done properly.
That narrow cockpit and hopping up and down off the seat was really the only
thing that I wasn’t crazy on when I bought my 27. And if the owner hadn’t been
out of the province I might have ended up with an Ontario 28 (which does have
the T).

That boat's been sitting on the market for a while, i've been seeing that ad
for a long time. I don't like it, personally. I wonder what it does to the
structural integrity of the boat.

There was a post on the list over a year ago when someone did something
similar to a 35 (I think). They had to make a split backstay and literally
took a Sawzall to the transom, cutting it down to the level of the sole. They
then finished the opening.
