The Mark III already has the split backstay .... and the extra length mostly in the cockpit.

They had to make a split backstay and literally took a Sawzall to the transom, cutting it down to the level of the sole. They then finished the opening. Very cool! Note they cut down the coaming and moved the vents, etc to the sides to allow for a seat for the skipper. Wonder what that cost the owner to do?
