Someone mentioned "blade" earlier.  It was explained to me when I first 
purchased one, that it was different from a working jib in that it was about 
90-95% of hoist and 100% of J overlap.  A working jib was lower cut on the 
hoist.  The blade was a better racing cut and definitely better for the IOR 
type masthead boats like my San Juan 24.
Strangely enough, when I bought my 30-1 the smallest sail was a 150% mule; the 
#1 was a 160%.  The mule is quite low on the hoist, bulletproof material and 
since the 30 is a stiff boat, functioned very well racing in heavy air; as long 
as you had deck apes to grind the damn thing in.  Currently, it's collecting 
dust.  We now carry the 160 and feather up in higher winds and then drop to a 
120%.  Much better for wife and I.
