>> I think that was Buzzy's original Arieto.<<

Buzzy's Arieto from 1971 to the mid-70's was the C&C 43 now known as Calypso.
He may have had boats named Arieto before 1971.

While I agree with Rob Ball on the C&C 61 "Sorcery" being one of the best all
time C&C boats (design and accomplishments combined) here is my list based on
C&C's I have owned or sailed extensively on:

Outright Fav: 1971 C&C "Limited Edition" 43 for its ability to sail well in any
conditions I am likely to experience between 60ºN and 50ºS.

Light air coastal racing: mid 70's C&C 39 (very similar to the 43, faster in
light air but not as sea kindly offshore)

Wife's favorite: 1980 36 for its lighter displacement and smaller sail plan

That must be the Crusader, which was a 70s 40-footer. I think that was Buzzy's
original Arieto.

Andrew,

Way back in time (in the 70's) there was a 40-1 (just known a s a "40" back
then) . I do not know much about it except there are specs on it on CnC Photo
Album Measurements.
