Andrew,

Way back in time (in the 70's) there was a 40-1 (just known a s a "40" back
then) . I do not know much about it except there are specs on it on CnC Photo
Album Measurements.

David,
I don't think you're self-serving at all. It's good to have an objective
observer to rely on.
Question: Why the 2 on 40-2? Was there a previous 40? Or was the Crusader the
previous 40?

"Evergreen" (Canadian Cup Custom)
"Sorcery" (61' Custom)
and the 40-2

Rob crewed aboard Zoomer, a Padanaram-based 40-2, for many years until she was
recently sold.

Do you notice that we all like the older boats and we all love the sheer line?
The incredible way the designers got the stern, stem, house, and sheer all
working together makes for what has to be the most beautiful line of production
boats designed between the 60s and 80s.

Just looking at some pics of my boat at Block Island Race Week enthralls me
with her looks once again. http://www.photoboatgallery.net/p53685836

C&Cs out there. IIRC one of their more popular models.

LF 38 – IMHO *still* one of the best offshore C&Cs.

Hi Dennis,

I think Andrew said it best. The 35 mk-1 was the boat that really built the
company... and still has the best sheer. IMHO

She feels like a much bigger boat than she is, when sailing.

The 35 mark 1, just because she was and is such a beauty and still had a good
layout and sailed really well.

The 27 Mk 1 but then I'm prejudiced, having spent many many happy hours
cruising with my old dad on his.
I'd put the 39 on there, even though she had more of a racing layout; what a
joy to sail and look at that boat!

The 30 mk1, because of its longevity...and similarity to the 27
I think the 35 Mk 3 should be on there, too, not that I have any experience
with the boat, beyond looking at them during the search that resulted in
acquiring Peregrine.

What I personally would find interesting is what this esteemed group thinks are
the top ten C&Cs of all time? The reason for your choice would also be of
interest.
