Fred, Dock n Dine in Old Saybrook has great seafood with a great water view of the CT River. So does The Boathouse in Mystic, but that's land-locked. In Clinton, AQUA is at the Cedar Point Marina and has some great seafood overlooking the water.
There are also two major outlet malls less than 1 half-hour drive (Tanger and Clinton Corner). There are also two major casinos nearby with great restaurants and shows (Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods) Yes -- see the seaport (the location of the 2012 C&C rendezvous) and the aquarium. There is all some great shopping/walking at the Olde Mystic Village. Not far from Mystic (ten minutes) is the US Submarine Base, which includes a tour of the USS Nautilus. There are plenty of other museums in the area too. Lots to see. You may want to break up the wedding couple just so you have the time to see it all. All the best, Edd Edd M.
