Some "cultural" things to do / see

20 miles and 20 minutes from Middletown in Farmington CT there is the most
amazing museum called the Hillstead Museum

Here is some info from Google

Hill-Stead Museum, also known as Hill-Stead, is a Colonial Revival house and
art museum in Farmington, Connecticut, USA. It is best known for its French
Impressionist masterpieces, architecture, and stately grounds.

30 minutes in the opposite direction is New Haven. The Yale College tour is
quite interesting -especially the visit to the library. Yale also has some
great art collections.

The schooner Amistad has its base in New Haven - but I am not sure whether
it is there or not right now - last time I saw her, she was in Mystic
Seaport for repair

Subject: Stus-List fun stuff in Connecticut?

I've got a wedding to attend this Saturday in Middletown, CT with my wife
and daughters. We're staying through until Tuesday, and I've been looking
into some fun stuff to do/see on Sunday and Monday. I've already got the
Mystic Seaport on the list (maybe Monday, as Sunday will probably be
busier?); and one other possibility would be to take the fast ferry from New
London to Block Island for the day.

Any listers in the area have other ideas for activities or restaurants
(seafood!!!) in the immediate area for us? We probably won't have the time
to go out on someone's boat (as much as I'd like to), and wouldn't want to
be the victim of weather in that case.
