Joel If your anchor line is nylon I believe it will hold up better and last longer if it is kept wet. You could use plastic thimbles and stainless steel shackles or maybe try attaching small sacrificial anodes near the shackles and thimbles. I have a beautiful stainless steel Bruce knock off anchor and I use a small sacrificial anode attached near it to protect my galvanized anchor chain.

The line was wet, and the thimble corroded through. The shackle looks like crap too. Bought new thimble and shackles. I'm waiting for the line to dry before I splice it. I'm thinking of buying a milk crate and cutting it up and laying it in the bottom of the locker to keep it off the bottom of the locker. There is a drain, but there is obviously moisture in the locker. Thoughts?
