Jeeze that nasty - tell me again why you live there?
We certainly don't want everyone to move out here to the PNW, but
last month we were sitting in the cockpit of a friends boat swapping
stories till after dark. We had seven boats at the raft-up, and a
great Mediterranean potluck dinner. Life's good. . .
It relates to ice -- here's a webcam still from a few minutes ago:

This is the main marina in downtown Bayfield, WI -- you can see that
the harbor basin is choked with ice. The marina I'm in is two miles
down the shore, and also full of ice. In fact, a few days ago,
almost the entire channel between Bayfield and Madeline Island (a
couple of miles) was iced in.
