Ray - My 2 cents: Insulating the box is more important than the brand of the system. The page you referenced claimed something like 24 Amp Hours per day for that system, and 48 amp hours for everyone else... and that's just nonsense.

Part of the choice on systems really depends on how you're going to use the boat. I went berserk on mine, but it's designed to live on solar panels in the tropics. If you spend most of the time on shore power with weekend cruising and occasional week-long cruising vacations, there's no point going wild on it.

I would recommend that whatever system you use have a Danfoss compressor. They are the most common compressor, and you can always find parts and someone to work on it.
