I had much the same experience and result as Danny when I bought my boat last
year. I looked at quite a few LF38's but don't think this was on of them.
Every one of them that I looked at had enough problems that I didn't even
consider making any offers. The boat that I did eventually buy was very
barebones but in incredibly good shape. I'm slowly adding/replacing gear to get
it equipped the way I want it to be.

Stay away if you can't feasably visit the boat. The only boat I had
surveyed, I bought. ...and it still needed everything, including a new engine.
I got it on the cheap but ended up investing up to, and maybe beyond, market
value. Just now I know how old everything is and it was all new.
It took me nearly 2 years to find a boat. However, I had a boat so wasn't
desperate to find one and was very cautious.
