I did this a long time ago. The day has passed when a boat can be kept in
competitive racing trim and go cruising in comfort. When I was a kid,
Coquina could literally come back from a 2 week cruise on Friday night and
be on the line Saturday morning and win silver.
Now.......not so much.
So I race on other boats when the urge strikes and Coquina is a second home
for us. This is not to say I don't like to sail fast, but trying to get all
the kids toys, blow-dryers, etc etc off and the racing sails on is too much
of a PITA for us.

Listers,

Though I thought this day would never come (and I'm not saying it has yet),
but given the difficulties in lining up crew, keeping them committed on a
regular basis, and the costs, I'd like to know people's experiences in
transitioning from racing their C&C to a life of cruising.

Anyone here done it? Are you happy you did? I'm very curious to hear your
stories, including the successes and regrets, if any.

All the best,

Edd
