Hi Wally,

I live in Massachusetts and sail around cape cod and the islands. I'm just
beginning in these waters and I find myself checking the charts alot. I'm
thinking I'd be a lot more at ease if I had a ready reference right there on
the helm. I guess I already do in the old garmin. It doen't show ant depths
though and the fishfinder...well if that is telling me the water isn't deep
enough, it's probably too late.

I guess I'm just looking for a little peace of mind. Although, I'm sure the
more I'm out there the less I'll need the plotter. I imagine we'll be quite
content sailing here for some years to come. It's just the learning curve I'm
trying to help along.

Right. You can download a heck of a lot of charts for free, so that's
check it out before considering 'free charts' as added value.

Danny, where the heck do you live and where do you sail? I have this
thing called 'cruiseheimers' and my attention span is limited. You
probably already said this...

Just go sailing, dude, and let the force be with you.

Wal
