I think webhttrack sounds interesting as apposed to wget which I tried a while ago.
I did a web search of <Webhttrack forum run as user> ( not including <> ) and I got results that could be interesting, but no time now to study this. Sorry. http://forum.httrack.com/readmsg/19099/19098/index.html gave one debate Got a feeling cruchbang may be handling (or not handling) user rights differently than other distributions tend to do it. If I am wrong on this point(guess), crunchbang experts please chime in and correct me here. Have not used crunchbang for a while myself but have tried it.
