Video:
xorg.conf contains the correct Identifier- ATI ...Radeon Xpress 200M, but the 
driver is simply "ati". I assume once I 'find' the correct driver, I edit this 
file with the right name? and path?
Problem 2:
Because the system 'hangs' during bootup at 'checking battery state', I had to 
boot in kernel recovery mode - if I remember correctly. Is this problem related 
to the video driver?

lsmod module list includes:
ati_agp, agpgart,atiixp, vesafb among others.
