I guess this falls into the one big event a year, IMHO I still think we should have one.  Not sure if this was discussed on the list or in person, (it's been so long ago.)  But the idea was to have a major CLUG fair where once a year we could justify it.  I've looked around with other hobby based clubs and groups and they usually have a annual big bash type event where everyone tries to make it, (that includes people not located within the Calgary area, Marcel, and others from the Edmonton, Lethbridge, Reed Deer...)

Hehehe... glad to see I'm missed from the meetings.  Honestly I'd love to be coming to all the clug events but life got twice as busy since when I last attended and allocating time for the meeting has other conflicts. :'(

I don't have specific numbers with me, but I think we can probably afford it -
once, if we don't want to do anything else for the year.. :)

I'd like to see a hall or gym as well, but if we need to pay for this we'd
only be able to do one Installfest a year.  If we can find someone willing to
donate such space, we'd be VERY happy.. :)

We can always make arrangements with a local community center, or maybe even a
school.  But to do so before convergence (where we will be promoting the
Installfest) might be short notice.  We were looking at another location, but
they want a few hundred for us to use the space.  So now we're into a
fallback position...  Paul at VFXWeb has tentatively agreed to host us again,
but they are a little concerned (as am I) about the number of people that may
be attending.  I'm guesstimating about 20 boxes for this one...

Thanks for the input.

Shawn

(ps.  Jason, are you ever going to make it to the meetings again??? :) )
