Im not a javascript guru but from my experience JQuery isn't suitable for large web application, starting with the JQueryUi immaturity and the plethora of plugins that sometime work and sometime don't.
Rich and the rest of the core team, don't be discouraged by such comments, if it wasn't for your work id wouldn't be so much excited with javascript as I am now! Iv bought the Closure book and I can't wait to see all the cool stuff that the Clojure community will bring to this arena!
