It does seem that the optimizations Andy Fingernut did by hand are pretty braindead, and need to be done automatically. If I did change the compiler to do these, what are the chances of my improvements getting merged into the main tree? Otherwise, such work would be utterly pointless. > Instead it feels to me like you're > trying to "win" something or other by catching Rich or the community > in a lie. We did catch him, hehe. It wasn't my intension, actually. If you look at my posting history here in chronological order, this will become very clear. Originally I asked if achieving Java's speed was possible consistently, which grew into the discussion of what Rich claimed or didn't claim (because of others not remembering this claim). Sometimes, good people lie too. I dig it. > This kind of behavior isn't helpful to anyone and it's why > you're being moderated. Are you one of the moderators? Moderation doesn't work btw. If I wanted to break your attempt at speech and opinion oppression, I could easily do so. Like gun control, you are just inconveniencing those who are willing to play by the rules, while they are so willing. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Clojure" group.
