Clarification, I would never replace a config file with one from an
older version. I meant, and I admit I did not phrase it well, use the
old version for reference only. For instance, in Postfix I do not
memorize every setting I have in main.cf; however, using the backup
version I can find the settings I want and transfer them to the new
config.
