There is already something in the TXT record announcing the facility level needed to get the best from the cvd update. The problem here seems to me that the new cvd format is so deeply incompatible with the old one that new CVDs are mostly useless to old clamav intallations. This is not going to happen often, I guess. So a kind of "cvd format version" in the DNS name (1 in my example) would probably suffice.
