I solved it: in my /etc/freshclam.conf there was still #DatabaseMirror db.XY.clamav.net obviously freshclam then takes a default server ( database.clamav.net ?) which has no DST and therefore the "DNS record is older than 3 hours." message.
Putting DatabaseMirror db.AT.clamav.net into the config file solved the issue.
