"egoless programming" means, that the software should "please"the user. And not 
the author only. Which obviously is NOTthe case with OpenSoftware.

Thanx for clarification, that OpenSoftware is to satisfythe selfish attitude of 
the author.And not simply to be good (== better usable) software.Including a 
compensation of a flaw in othersoftware modules, if necessary.Interesting as 
well, that you did not commenton the aspect of "User Friendliness". Finally, 
one very good statement from a verydemanding customer and user of software, 
which I didsome time in the past: "There is NOTHING like User Error ..."In 
case, Opensource is not interested to be used in serious apps,most of it can 
keep actual standards, though. Like another comment stated already:The 
difference between OpenSource Software and commercialsoftware should NOT be the 
level of quality.
