Using clamav used 100% cpu but didn't do anything, that was a while ago an i had no need to scan anything to lately, and it was only ver 0.90. apt-get install clamav reported it was up to day, which it clearly wasn't. So yesterday i decided to compile from binary and start again. I saw on the clamav site to add deb http://volatile.debian.org/debian-volatile etch/volatile main contrib non-free Then i ran apt-get update and then apt-get install clamav, which gave me a reported v0.93 But, running freshclam reported i was still using ver -0.90, even though clamscan reported v0.93. So after reading your replys i stopped freshclam, removed clamav and clamav-freshclam. Did another apt-get install clamav. I didn't have the clamscan test files so i got them with apt-get install clamscan-testfiles Now when i scan my Eicar and test files i get reported infections found.
