Hello,
Thank you very much for that script, CDE started right a way fine on a
Ubuntu (12.04 LTS) 32bit VM. With proper Desktop-Manager-selection list
from the login screen and working login/logout and session restore. In 1997
I used the desktop first, when I started my studies, now more than 10 years
later, I could login again ;-)
As I went through the hasle of setting a custom desktop background I
noticed right away the limitations (file-format, numer of colors). Creating
a custom action for starting Firefox, with custom icon worked also fine. To
get the proper display resolution I needed to first login using the default
Ubuntu-Login, then log-out and then login using the CDE-desktop. The
scroll-wheel did not work, as somebody before also noticed already.
Best,
Chris
