When people have waxed poetic about their oxygen-free mains cords, forged on the inner thighs of virgins [1], and how it affects the quality of their sound system, I have always asked them why their rarefied equipment incorporates power supplies that are so crappy that they can hear the effects of things on the line side of the switch.
[1] I'm just bitter because I don't have the balls to ask $30K for a line cord...
