Oscar Vermeulen managed to get an 8/I replica going using a
Raspberry Pi and Bob's code.
You do have to hook into the code of course. I want to do an 8/e the
same way.

I don’t think so, because SIMH does not (and does not aim to) deliver all the
obscure details of the original hardware, only those that are relevant to
ordinary software.
