Hi Jawed,

If your PE-CE protocol is OSPF, then shamlinks like others have suggested
are the way to go, however that is dependant on your SP putting in the
appropriate config to support this (honestly any SP worth their salt
offering OSPF as a PE-CE should be doing this).  Even if this config is
done and you end up with Intra-Area routes, quite probably your GRE
backdoor link will need the OSPF cost increased to be less preferred than
the MPLS link.

I guess another thing you could do is have the backdoor link appear in a
different OSPF process and do mutual redistribution between processes, then
you would be comparing externals with externals but again shamlinks were
designed with your problem statement in mind.
