I like where you are going with that idea - in fact - I would reverse it - I
would read the Doyle chapters on BGP and Multicast in place of the books.

Subject: [OSL | CCIE_RS] Reading List

Hello All,
I know the list of books below is recommended reading for CCIE R&S candidates.
In order to get maximum use of my study time, I wanted to get some opinions on
whether to read all books cover-to-cover, or if some of the material is
redundant and can be skipped.

For instance, Routing TCP/IP, Volume 2 has extensive coverage of BGP and
multicast. Since there are other books on the list that deal exclusively with
those two topics, and that are regarded as among the best at covering those
topics, can those sections of Routing TCP/IP, Volume 2 be skipped over, or is
there still valuable information to be gained from all sources?

Any other thoughts on how to approach the reading list are very much
appreciated.
