Hello Cyrus,

It sounds like you have a classic case of a flash that is not formatted 
properly. I ran into this issue the other week when I tried to update my 3745 
router's image. What I did end up doing was using one of my 2811's to format 
the flash properly (it was already booted up in full IOS and I just switched 
the current flash for the other routers flash). Once I formatted it I 
downloaded a whole new IOS image (its possible that your IOS maybe corrupted) 
onto the flash and then I placed the flash back into the router and it loaded 
right up! Let me know if this works for you.
