December 22, 2014 Highlights:-----------

Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex 
(MWC)------------
     12/23: 45 SANDHILL CRANES and 2 SHORT-EARED OWLS were seen at Puddler’s 
Marsh.     12/26: A GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE and a CACKLING GOOSE were seen 
in Knox-marsellus Marsh.     12/28: A CACKLING GOOSE was again seen in 
Knox-Marsellus Marsh.

Onondaga County------------
     12/23: The SAW-WHET OWL was again seen at Beaver Lake Nature Center but 
has been invisible since.     12/26: A COMMON REDPOLL was heard flying over the 
Beaver Lake Nature Center area.     12/27: 2 SNOWY OWLS were seen at Hancock 
Airport. SNOW GEESE numbering in the the thousands were seen in flight in the 
Town of Van Buren near Baldwinsville.     12/28: A CHIPPING SPARROW was seen 
for two days at a feeder in Skaneateles.

Madison County------------
     12/25: A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen on Preston Hill Road near Hamilton.     
12/26: EVENING GROSBEAKS and PINE SISKINS continue to visit a feeder on 
Carpenter Road near Sheds.     12/27: 1 LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL and 2 ICELAND 
GULLS were seen at the Madison County Landfill.

Oneida County------------
     12/26: 4 SHORT-EARED OWLS were seen again at the intersection of Rt.31 and 
Miller Road near Durhamville.     12/28: A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen on Jug 
Point Road near Verona Beach.

Oswego County------------
     12/26: An ICELAND GULL was seen in Oswego Harbor.     12/28: 13 
YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS and 2 HERMIT THRUSHES were seen at Rice Creek Field 
Station in Oswego. A SNOWY OWL was seen at the Oswego county Airport.

Herkimer County------------
     12/27: 3 SHORT-EARED OWLS were found on Cronkhite Road south of St. 
Johnsville.

Jefferson County------------
     12/26: An ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER was found at the Lakeview WMA near 
Wescott Beach State Park. SNOWY OWLS were seen on Rt. 11 near Philadelphia, Dog 
Hill Road and Sacketts Harbor Battlefield.
