Man am I way behind the times...Guess thats why I spend 1 day a week with the
old Swan tube radio. Split funtion was NOT unless I hook up and use the
external VFO. And to top it off I use a # 2 pencil with hand log to remeber
call signs that day for the Swan users net or the BVARC Ragchew net. Gotta Love
tube glow.
SWAN RADIO- life is too short for a puni signal and tube TX audio is when set
right the BEST.
tnx for the comments Buce and I wish all good hunting for Cocos Island

my computer. i use belkin wemo to turn radio on either by computer or from the
internet. guess i can use dragon voice recognition to listen for the reply to
my call. that is a thought.

All DX requires some effort. The new Radio menu functions for 2016
are not out yet or you could program radio to come on , auto find selected DX,
auto split, radio saveys rx of your call and sends tx with you callsign and
then gives call and 59 report when DX repeats your call, then logs the contact
in your log and sends you a text. The menu leaves the amp on for you.....wont
be HF radio to me when the advancements get that good :-}
Lookin Fw to going CooCoo for Cocos

True enough Jonathan, but at least you can't rotate your
house to the wrong direction. Cocos Island is near enough that you should be
able to work them, but a directional antenna and or amplifier is always nice. I
am without a good directional antenna these days, but if the rain will hold off
for a while I may be able to fix that.

I just want to point that that, for some of us, adjusting
the antenna involves rotating the house.
