Besides, I don't even have the Hurd running yet. :-) I was trying to get it working last night. Seems to not work with Qemu. The emulator locks while the installation is formatting the ext2 partition. I format with a Debian GNU/Linux installation disc instead and that works fine. I go back to GNU/Hurd installation and it takes about three hours to extract baseGNU. When it's finally done and I restart the emulation to boot from the virtual hard disk, it never boots (perhaps it never installed GRUB?). Wonderful. I'll try Xen next (it also appear to have several benefits over Qemu). I have found one thing that seems incorrect in hurd.git/hurd/password.defs. See the parameter/field "group" in "password_check_group"? Shouldn't it be of type gid_t and not uid_t? /Patrik
