I don't see why the Hurd (or subhurds) couldn't be used as a platform for cloud computing. But as this buzzword spread like fire on the internet, and cloud computing is more and more used (even MS is aware of the trend, and acting: http://it.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=08/10/27/220208&from=rss), I don't think it's a niche anymore. But zhengda GSOC work is definitely a step towards this approach for the hurd. But I don't know if actually a subhurd is able to migrate from one host to another... Disclaimer: I'm not a hurd expert (I only played with it in Qemu, and I have been following hurd-related mailing lists for quite some time...) -ben
