Most important is, that you wrote it, not when you did. 

And I like it. 
It sounds just crazy enough to become a reality someday :)

Maybe with people sharing some servers, even though their main programs run on 
different computers - Far fetched I can imagine a shared virtual reality Hurd 
server which creates the environment for all users which could even be running 
on dedicated hardware.
